SIPRI and the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium are pleased to announce a new introductory course on WMD non-proliferation and disarmament. The course will take place from 2–5 December 2024 in Stockholm, Sweden.
SIPRI collaborated with the European Union Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC) on several disarmament events at the end of 2023.
On 6–8 December 2022, SIPRI and the European Union Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC) hosted an intensive introductory course on the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), mechanisms to control their further spread and pathways to disarmament.
On 29 November, Giovanna Maletta, Senior Researcher with the Dual-Use and Arms Trade Control Programme, and Dr Lucie Béraud-Sudreau, Director and Senior Researcher with the Military Expenditure and Arms Production Programme, participated in a public hearing of the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Security and Defence. The hearing was entitled ‘The War in Ukraine: Implications for Arms Export Policies at the EU Level’.
On 14–15 November 2022, SIPRI actively participated in the 11th annual EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference. The conference, which is funded by the European Union (EU), was organized by the Institute of International Affairs (IAI) on behalf of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC).
On 16–17 May 2022 SIPRI actively participated in an ad hoc seminar on ‘War in Ukraine: The Impact on the International Security Architecture—Non-proliferation, Disarmament, Arms Control, Export Controls’. The seminar was held in Brussels in a hybrid format and was organized by the Foundation for Strategic Research (FRS) on behalf of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC).
As part of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC), SIPRI hosted a seminar titled ‘Strengthening the Gender Focus in Disarmament and Non-proliferation’. The seminar was held virtually on 30 March.
On 6–7 December 2021, SIPRI actively participated in the 10th annual EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference. The conference, which is funded by the European Union (EU), was organized by the Italian Institute of International Affairs (IAI) on behalf of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC).
