SIPRI’s partnership with African civil society organizations (CSOs) involved facilitating contacts, sharing knowledge and expertise and laying the foundations for future collaborative work.
The main aims of this component are:
- To strengthen networking between and amongst African CSOs working on security issues;
- To link up African CSOs to policy processes and mechanisms for addressing security issues within Africa (e.g. the African Union's Economic Social and Cultural Council process); and
- To connect African CSOs with available expertise on security issues within and outside the continent.
