Arina Šmidt

Arina Šmidt is a communications intern at SIPRI, supporting the team’s work on outreach and dissemination with a focus on media and events. Previously, she worked at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia in the International Organisations Department, contributing to events and publications marking the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and assisting with the Proliferation Security Initiative conference. She was also a member of the communications team for the international (Young) Bled Strategic Forum in 2024 and 2025. In 2023/24, she served as a United Nations Youth Delegate and is an active member of a youth and children’s NGO dedicated to promoting children’s rights.
