On 17–18 November, as part of a research project supported by the Global Challenges Foundation, SIPRI hosted a dialogue in Stockholm on the ‘Governance of Multidomain Escalation Risk’.

How can we ensure that another Hiroshima or Nagasaki never happens again? What lessons can we draw from the past? The Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament, Swedish Physicians Against Nuclear Weapons and SIPRI jointly hosted a discussion on these questions.

SIPRI held a closed-door workshop on 20–21 November to examine how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, could support and strengthen the biological weapons prohibition regime.
