Co-hosted by SIPRI and the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), the Economists for Peace and Security blog discusses issues that are pressing and relevant to the policy, practice and theory of economics and development in conflict and crisis-affected contexts.

Covering issues from piracy to food security, and extractive industries to entrepreneurship, the blog features concise, research-based commentary written for those working to change the situation of the more than 1.5 billion people living in conflict-affected and fragile states.

We encourage you to participate in our venture by posting comments and questions for our expert authors.

Guest bloggers will include Hamid E. Ali (American University in Cairo), Jurgen Brauer (Georgia Regents University), Tilman Brück (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute), Michael Brzoska (University of Hamburg), Olaf De Groot (Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung Berlin), Elisabeth Sköns (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute) and many more.

Read the first post, on the impact of peacekeeping on development in South Sudan, by Raul Caruso and Roberto Ricciuti on the USIP site or right here on the SIPRI site.
