Jamilya Karabaeva was a Research Assistant with SIPRI's Life in Kyrgyzstan project between 2015–16. She joined SIPRI after obtaining her Master's degree in International Administration and Global Governance from the University of Gothenburg in February 2015. She took part in conducting impact evaluation research studies of peace-building and community-driven development projects in Kyrgyzstan. Her research interests include gender aspects of labour migration, construction of national identities, integration, multiculturalism and parallel societies.
