Karen is an intern in the Director’s Office at SIPRI, where she supports senior leadership through internal coordination, strategic planning, and high-level engagements. She previously interned with Everyday Peace Indicators (EPI) on the Colombia team, where she contributed to participatory, policy-oriented research on transitional justice, peacebuilding, and the gender–climate–peace nexus linked to the implementation of the Final Peace Agreement.
She holds a First-Class Honours BA in International Relations and Politics from the University of Sheffield and is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Security at Sciences Po Paris, specializing in Diplomacy and Global Risk. Her dissertation examined the peace engagement and soft power of small states—specifically Norway and Qatar—in the context of the Israel–Hamas war. Alongside her studies, Karen has been actively involved in student associations and volunteering, most recently as Global Events Coordinator for the Sciences Po United Nations Association, where she organized high-level dialogues on underreported global issues.
