Dr Diego Lopes da Silva is a Researcher with the SIPRI Arms and Military Expenditure Programme. He holds a PhD in International Relations and a Master’s degree in Peace, Defense and International Security from São Paulo State University. His research explores the political consequences of arms import dependence in South America. His publications have mainly addressed issues of arms trade and transparency in military expenditure.
