Federica Persico

Guest Researcher

Federica Persico is a Guest Researcher in the SIPRI Climate Change and Risk Programme. She is a PhD Candidate in Security and Strategic Studies at the University of Genoa, Italy. Her research explores the evolution and contestation, by United Nations member states, of environmental protection norms in armed conflict. Previously, she was also a Guest Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) within the Research Group Ecology, Climate, and Conflict. Beyond her research on environmental protection and conflict, Persico has a background in area studies, with a particular focus on the political dynamics of Arab countries in West Asia and North Africa.
