The 2026 Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development will establish a Youth Advisory Board, funded by the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
The board is composed of nine young experts and practitioners with a diverse range of professional, geographic and cultural backgrounds who have been working closely with the Forum organizers to help shape the agenda. Members of the board will also collaborate with Forum partners on the design of sessions and participate as speakers during workshops and roundtables to ensure that youth voices are amplified in global peace and development debates.
This initiative, developed by SIPRI and the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), as co-conveners of the Forum, aims to strengthen youth engagement in discussions and increase the recognition of the critical role young people play in peacebuilding, aligned with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 on youth, peace and security.
About the 2026 Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development
The 2026 Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development will be held in Stockholm by invitation only under the theme ‘From Rupture to Repair: New Visions for Peace and Development’. The opening and closing sessions will be livestreamed on SIPRI’s YouTube channel. The Forum is hosted by SIPRI and co-convened with FBA and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
