SIPRI co-organizes trans-Arctic conference

On 18–19 March the foreign ministers of Iceland and Sweden delivered keynote addresses at a high-level seminar on Arctic issues co-organized by SIPRI and the Institute for International Affairs' Centre for Arctic Policy Studies at the University of Iceland (IIA/CAPS).

The conference, entitled The Trans-Arctic Agenda: Challenges of Development and Security Cooperation, looked at governance issues and cooperation among Arctic stakeholders. It brought together experts and policymakers from all the large and small nations most interested in Arctic developments.
