On 1 April 2015 SIPRI, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and the Permanent Representation of Sweden to International Organizations in Vienna, held a workshop on promoting a successful outcome of the 2015 NPT Review Conference at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.
The aim of the capacity-building workshop, organized by Tariq Rauf, Director of SIPRI’s Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-proliferation Programme, was to brief and work with diplomats accredited to the IAEA and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO). The focus was on safeguards, safety, peaceful uses of nuclear energy and disarmament.
