On 6 June Dr Chantal de Jonge Oudraat, Executive Director of SIPRI North America, visited the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headquarters in Brussels, where she gave a presentation on the importance and conundrums of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on women and peace and security.
O 18 June SIPRI North America and the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) co-hosted an event on the challenges and opportunities facing widows and single female household heads in Iraq.
On 28 June SIPRI North America and Women in International Security (WIIS) will host an invite-only working group on combat integration. SIPRI North America and WIIS recently announced a partnership through which both organizations will continue expanding their networks of women and men dedicated to women’s leadership in peace and security.
