Irina Herb

Irina is an Intern with the Peace and Development Programme at SIPRI. She is conducting research on preventing and countering violent extremism and is involved in the organisation of the 2017 Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development. Her research interests include violent extremism and the role of ideology, norms and religion in conflicts and (international) politics.

Prior to joining SIPRI, Irina worked as a student Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity (Germany) and the Diversity Research Institute (Germany). She was an Intern at the German Embassy in Kazakhstan and at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF).
