SIPRI signs cooperation agreement with Kazakh think tank

On 17 December 2018, SIPRI hosted a delegation from the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP).

During the meeting, Dan Smith, SIPRI Director, and Yerzhan Saltybayev, Director of IWEP, signed a memorandum of understanding between the two think tanks.

The multi-year agreement will enable greater cooperation on questions of international peace, security and development. Particular areas where SIPRI and IWEP will benefit from shared expertise include arms control, nuclear non-proliferation and China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
