The Russian translation of SIPRI Yearbook 2015 was presented in Moscow on 29 September 2016. Publication of the Russian translation of the Yearbook and the additional Supplement to the Yearbook written by Russian experts continues a long-standing project between SIPRI and the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAS) in Russia.
The presentation gathered more than 60 representatives from government ministries, scientific research centers, institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, NGOs and the media. Dr Alexey Arbatov, Head of the Centre for International Security at IMEMO, stressed the importance of the Russian version of the SIPRI Yearbook in the context of a drastic deterioration of the international security environment. In these conditions, he stated, it is essential that experts continue their dialogue.
