SIPRI's partner organization, the Moscow-based Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO), launched the Russian translation of SIPRI Yearbook
2012 at a press conference in Moscow.
The press conference was opened by the Deputy Director of IMEMO and SIPRI Governing Board member, Vladimir G. Baranovsky, who stressed the importance of the Russian SIPRI Yearbook for a wide range of experts and policymakers in Russia and, therefore, the pivotal role of the joint IMEMO-SIPRI project that made this publication possible.
IMEMO also published a supplement to the Russian edition (PDF, in English) outlining arms control, disarmament and international security issues in Russia in 2012.
