On 10 September SIPRI Researcher Carina Solmirano gave a presentation at the launch of the Pillars of Peace report in Geneva.
The report was launched as part of the event ‘Positive Peace and the Post 2015 Development Agenda: towards a more comprehensive approach to increase resilience and wellbeing’. The event was sponsored by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), the United Nations Office at Geneva and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform.
The Pillars of Peace, a report issued by the IEP, 'provides a new conceptual framework for understanding and describing the factors that are associated with peaceful societies'. The Director General of the UN Office at Geneva, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, opened the event while the founder and Executive Chairman of the IEP, Steven Killelea, was the keynote speaker.
