In a world where the pursuit of peace often seems elusive, understanding how societies navigate conflict and reconciliation is more important than ever. From global hotspots to deeply divided regions, any path towards peace involves complex negotiations of identity, sovereignty and belonging. One such case, rich in history and lessons for our times, is the island of Ireland.

This SIPRI event featured a conversation with Brendan O'Leary, Lauder Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. As a leading authority on Irish politics, Professor O'Leary explored the evolving landscapes of Ireland, both North and South.
