Karin Melin

Karin Melin is a Grants Acquisition and Development Manager at SIPRI. Karin is a senior international development professional and skilled networker with more than 20 years of experience spanning both governmental and non-governmental sectors. She brings extensive field experience complemented by a strong interdisciplinary academic background, holding three Master’s degrees: an MA in English Literature from Stockholm University (1999), an MSc in Social Anthropology from Lund University (2002), and an MSc in Leadership, Command and Control for Defence, Crisis Management and Security from the Swedish Defence University (2024).

Her career demonstrates a steady progression of leadership roles, including senior positions at the Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD) and Save the Children. In these roles, she has driven strategic development, strengthened institutional capacity and resource mobilization, and overseen complex international programs across multiple countries.
