Hyuk Kim joined SIPRI in February 2015 as a Guest Researcher with Dual-use and Arms Trade Control Programme. In this programme, he is conducting research on the EU dual-use export control implementation through the quantitative trade data analysis. He has MA in Nonproliferation and Terrorism, University Diploma in International Nuclear Law, and BS in Nuclear Engineering. His primary research interests include export controls and illicit trafficking, UN sanctions, and nuclear politics in East Asia. Recently, he is finalizing his work, Impact of UN Sanctions on the DPRK, which presents legal and technical analysis of the sanctions based on the open source trade data analysis.
