Jiayi Zhou

Dr Jiayi Zhou is a Researcher in the SIPRI Conflict, Peace and Security Programme. Before joining SIPRI, she worked as a policy analyst on US–China nuclear relations, and was also a Research Assistant at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Her Master’s degrees are in International Development and International Relations, with an area studies background in the former Soviet Union, and she holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Linköping University. Her interests are in non-traditional security, geo-economics, and sustainable development — particularly related to food and agriculture.
