Dr Agnese Pacciardi
Agnese Pacciardi is a Research and Project Assistant in SIPRI’s Major Initiatives team, where she works on issues of human security and development cooperation. Her research focuses on the intersections between security, development and migration, and their implications for sustainable peace and security.
Dr Pacciardi holds a PhD in Political Science from Lund University and an MSc in Security Studies from the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies and the University of Trento. Her published research explores international multilateralism, populism, migration and border governance across Europe, West Africa and North Africa. She particularly focuses on how migration and development policies affect local communities and the mobility trajectories of people on the move. In addition to her role within the Major Initiatives team, she is a Research Associate at the Sussex Centre for Migration Research (SCMR) and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.
