The Berghof Foundation works around the world to create space for conflict transformation. Through advice, support, learning and research, the Berghof Foundation's programming enables conflict transformation and promotes peace around the world.

Build Up

At the intersection of peacebuilding and technology, Build Up uses new tools for old problems, and old tools for new problems. They implement programs, conduct research, and develop technical solutions to engage with conflict and build societies in which everyone can thrive. They are a digital-first organization, which means they both use digital technologies throughout their peacebuilding work and deeply understand the impact of technology on conflict. Build UP runs programs in three areas: inclusive politics, digital conflict and creative peace.

Busara

Busara is a non-profit organisation that uses behavioural science and applied research to improve development programmes and reduce poverty, with a focus on contexts in the Global South. They work with governments, policymakers, funders, academics, and implementing organisations to design evidence-based, locally relevant and human-centred solutions.

Centre on Armed Groups

The Centre on Armed Groups supports efforts to reduce violence and end armed conflict.

Their research is solution-oriented, grounded in rigorous evidence, and designed to inform policy and practice. By understanding how armed actors govern, negotiate, and interact with others, we aim to support nuanced, effective responses to conflict.

Their work facilitating and supporting dialogue aims to create safe spaces for discussion and learning about engagement with armed groups. While they do not act as mediators, they support engagement and accompany political and humanitarian mediators in engagement.

The Centre provides confidential, tailored advice to governments, humanitarian and development agencies, donors, the private sector and other actors engaging with armed groups. Their aim is to help partners navigate complex conflict environments with greater sensitivity, effectiveness, and foresight.

Civil Rights Defenders

Civil Rights Defenders is a politically and religiously independent human rights organisation. They partner with and support human rights defenders who work in some of the world’s most repressive regions. they work on four continents. Their headquarters is located in Stockholm, and have eight regional branch-offices around the world. Civil Rights Defenders was founded as the Swedish Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in 1982. Civil Rights Defenders’ Vision is a world of democratic societies in which we all enjoy our civil and political rights.

Climate Centre

The Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre supports the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and its partners in reducing the impacts of climate change and extreme weather on vulnerable communities. It provides research, climate science, training, and practical support, with a focus on areas such as anticipatory action, locally led adaptation, health, conflict, and climate-related risk reduction.

Clowns Without Borders Sweden

Clowns Without Borders’ work is rooted in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Around the world, they meet children living in vulnerable situations and bring them laughter and joy. They are a non-profit organisation at the heart of which are their artists, who are members of the organisation and actively involved on a voluntary basis. They donate their time and expertise to Clowns Without Borders, knowing that joy and culture can help make the world a more hopeful and peaceful place.

CMC Finland

CMC Finland is a Finnish governmental institution and a centre of expertise in civilian crisis management. They are promoting peace, democracy and a strong rule of law in accordance with Finland’s and the EU’s foreign and security policy objectives. CMC Finland is a civilian crisis management centre of expertise established in 2007. In accordance with its statutory tasks, CMC is responsible for the training and recruitment of Finnish civilian crisis management experts and election observers sent for international assignments, and equipping them for their missions. In addition, CMC Finland conducts research and development activities in the field of civilian crisis management.

CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation

CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation is an independent non-profit Finnish organisation that works to prevent and resolve conflicts through dialogue and mediation. Founded by Nobel Peace Laureate and former President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari in 2000, they have since grown to be a leader in the field of international peacemaking.

Conciliation Resources

Conciliation Resources is an international organisation committed to stopping violent conflict and creating more peaceful societies.' For 30 years they have been bringing together communities torn apart by violence and mistrust, helping people resolve their differences. They connect the views of people on the ground with political processes, and share learning so others can find alternatives to violent conflict.

Conducive Space for Peace

Conducive Space for Peace is a Danish-registered NGO working to build a more equitable global collaboration system centred on civic actors. They work with civic actors including civil society and movements to claim space, and with change agents within institutions, helping to strengthen the connective tissue that an equitable global collaboration ecosystem needs in order to grow.

The Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation is an independent, non-governmental and non-contributory foundation established by the Government of Sweden on the initiative of the Swedish Parliament. Finance Capacity Development Platform (FCDP)

The Finance Capacity Development Platform (FCDP) supports SUN (Scaling Up Nutrition) countries in strengthening how they finance nutrition. It helps governments mobilise more domestic and external funding, improve planning and budgeting, track nutrition spending, and develop sustainable financing strategies. The platform also provides technical support, tools and opportunities for peer learning, helping countries use available resources more strategically and effectively to improve nutrition outcomes.

Finance for Peace

Finance for Peace’s objective is to create a market for peace-aligned investments, which incorporates peacebuilding work in the projects being funded. Their mission is to create market integrity through setting standards for peace-aligned finance that strengthens community resilience, reduces risks, and delivers long-term value for investors and society. They also bring investors, project owners, peacebuilders, and other stakeholders together through their market network. In addition, they create and support publicly available research on peace-aligned finance.

Finn Church Aid

Finn Church Aid (FCA) is Finland’s largest international aid organisation, operating in 12 countries and drawing on more than 70 years of experience. FCA specialises in supporting local communities across three priority areas: the Right to Education, the Right to Livelihood, and the Right to Peace. The organisation works with people living in poverty, regardless of their religious beliefs, ethnic background, or political convictions. FCA is a member of the Core Humanitarian Standard Alliance and works to apply the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) across its operations. They have a framework partnership agreement with ECHO, the Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department of the European Commission, as well as partnerships with a growing number of local organisations.

g7+

The g7+ provides a platform to member countries to collectively advocate for better approaches of supporting peacebuilding and statebuilding efforts in countries affected by conflict and fragility. The overall goal of the g7+ is to help end conflict and to promote peace and stability in member states. The g7+ is founded on the premise that lasting peace and development are interconnected. The process of peacebuilding and statebuilding should be founded on national ownership and the context each country is operating within.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German federal enterprise with more than 60 years of experience in international cooperation. GIZ works worldwide to promote sustainable development and shape a future worth living for people, partner countries, Europe and Germany. Their work focuses on promoting economic development and employment, supporting sustainable energy and environmental protection, and advancing peace and security, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. Hazawi Foundation for Cultural Development

Hazawi Foundation for Cultural Development is a Yemeni non-profit organization dedicated to promoting literature, culture, and emerging creative talent. Through its two national literary awards, the Hazawi Yemeni Narrative Award and Hazawi Children’s Literature Award, the Foundation has supported the publication of 35 books, recognized emerging writers, and expanded access to Yemeni literature through libraries, schools, and literary communities. The Foundation is particularly committed to supporting young authors whose opportunities have been affected by Yemen’s prolonged conflict.

INCAS Consulting

Established in 2003, on the back of an assignment in the Niger Delta, INCAS helped Shell to navigate threats in this rights-sensitive, volatile region. Their success was based on localised insights, strategic engagement and dialogue with security forces, focused community security measures, effective conflict resolution, and continuous client engagement to ensure conflict-sensitivity in operations.

Innovations for Poverty Action

Innovations for Poverty Action is a global research and policy nonprofit committed to reducing global poverty with evidence. With a network of partners and researchers, they design and test innovative solutions, support their partners to generate and use data and evidence, and help bring proven approaches to scale across the globe.

International Alert

For 40 years, International Alert has been working to build positive peace and reduce violence, working across conflict lines and with all parties to conflicts. Experienced and respected, they have a proud track record of achieving change in fragile and conflict-affected countries and territories. Their vision is a world where conflicts can be resolved without violence and people work together to support and sustain peace. Their purpose is to support a sustainable and inclusive end to violence. To fulfil this purpose, they: - work with people directly affected by violence to support lasting solutions; - advocate with them for the changes to policies, practices and behaviours that are required for peace to be inclusive and sustainable; and - collaborate openly and in solidarity with all those striving for peace, to strengthen our common cause. They base all their work on a deep understanding of the root causes of violence in each context, developed through long-term engagement. Their work draws on what they and others have learnt from decades of peacebuilding efforts.

International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ)

The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) is a nonprofit organization that helps societies deal with the legacy of mass human-rights violations, conflict, and repression. In short, they: - Support victims seeking truth, justice, accountability, and reparations. - Advise governments and institutions on justice and institutional reform. - Conduct research and policy analysis on “transitional justice.” - Work to strengthen democratic institutions and help prevent future violence and repression. They have worked in more than 50 countries since their founding in 2001.

International IDEA

The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) is an intergovernmental organization that supports democracy worldwide. International IDEA advances, promotes and protects sustainable democracy worldwide in consideration of human rights commitments through policy-relevant knowledge, capacity development, advocacy, and the convening of dialogues. They have an explicit mandate to support sustainable democracy worldwide. International IDEA combines a global presence based on a diverse membership, a feature that reinforces the legitimacy of its actions. They develop, share and enable the use of comparative knowledge, assist in democratic reform, and influence policies and politics, focusing on six workstreams: - Electoral Processes - Constitutional Governance and Rule of Law - Democracy Assessment - Political Participation and Representation - Climate Change and Democracy - Digitalization and Democracy They also address the following issues as they relate to democracy: - Gender Equality and Inclusion - Money in Politics

Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and is committed to the principle that humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society. IOM is part of the United Nations system, as a related organization. IOM supports migrants across the world, developing effective responses to the shifting dynamics of migration and, as such, is a key source of advice on migration policy and practice. The organization works in emergency situations, developing the resilience of all people on the move, and particularly those in situations of vulnerability, as well as building capacity within governments to manage all forms and impacts of mobility. The Organization is guided by the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, including upholding human rights for all. Respect for the rights, dignity and well-being of migrants remains paramount.

Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs

The American University of Beirut’s Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs was inaugurated in 2006 to serve as an independent, research-based, and policy-oriented institute with the aim of initiating, developing, and communicating policy-relevant research from and about Lebanon and the region, contributing to the realms of both academia and policymaking. Treading the sensitive interface between research and “real” politics, the institute navigates the often-arduous process of dialogue between experts and policymakers, integrating the constraints of real-time policymaking and the intricacies of governmental, inter-agency work. Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is a Swedish-based peacebuilding organisation founded in 1985. They work mainly in East Africa and the Great Lakes region, supporting local organisations to: - Prevent and transform violent conflict. - Facilitate dialogue between divided communities. - Strengthen civil society and peacebuilding initiatives - Conduct research and influence policymakers on peace and conflict issues.

Malian Centre for Interparty Dialogue

The Malian Centre for Interparty Dialogue and Democracy (CMDID) was established in 2008 with support from the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD) as an independent platform for dialogue among Mali’s political parties. They bring political parties together to promote dialogue, democratic governance, and peaceful political competition, while also providing training, supporting electoral and political reforms, and facilitating discussions between political parties, civil society, and other stakeholders.

Mines Advisory Group (MAG)

The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a global humanitarian and advocacy organisation that finds, removes and destroys landmines, cluster munitions and unexploded bombs from places affected by conflict. MAG also provides education programmes, particularly for children, so people can live, work and play as safely as a possible until they clear the land. They work in communities to reduce the risk of armed violence through weapons and ammunition management programmes which keep guns and munitions safe and secure. Since 1989, MAG has helped over 20 million people in 70 countries rebuild their lives and livelihoods after war. MAG believes it is unacceptable that millions of people are trapped in danger and poverty for years after wars end. They aim to help communities get on with their lives, and get back their futures.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland is responsible for Finland’s foreign policy and international relations. It represents Finland abroad and works to strengthen international cooperation, security, and sustainable development. Through its diplomatic missions, the Ministry also provides consular services and supports Finnish citizens and interests around the world.

Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers

The Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers builds bridges between grassroots peacemakers and global players in order to strengthen the work done for sustainable peace. The Peacemakers Network strengthens peacemaking by collaboratively supporting the positive role of religious and traditional actors in peace and peacebuilding processes.

New York University Peace Research and Education Program (NYU-PREP)

The NYU Peace Research and Education Program works with universities, communities, and policymakers to advance knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and develop the next generation of leaders working in peacebuilding and violence prevention. As NYU’s hub for research, education, and action on peace and violence prevention, the programme collaborates with partners in more than 11 countries across three interconnected pillars to build more peaceful and resilient societies.

Nonviolent Peaceforce

Nonviolent Peaceforce's mission is to protect civilians in violent conflicts through unarmed strategies, build peace side-by-side with local communities, and advocate for the wider adoption of these approaches to safeguard human lives and dignity. NP envisions a worldwide culture of peace in which conflicts within and between communities and countries are managed through nonviolent means. They are guided by principles of nonviolence, non-partisanship, primacy of local actors, and civilian-to-civilian action.

ODI Europe

ODI Europe brings research, ideas and dialogue with the wider world into the European policy debate. They address critical priorities while staying attuned to European policies and processes. Breaking down inward-looking trends, they are sensitive to political realities. They work with a wide range of stakeholders including EU institutions and Member States, as well as the UK and countries in the wider European neighbourhood. They are based in Brussels and are part of the ODI Global network.

Politics After War

Politics After War is a research network for collaborative activities and knowledge sharing among researchers interested in dynamics of party politics, political mobilisation, state-society relations and the state in post civil-war contexts. Their research focuses on rebel-to-party transformation, political parties, state-building and democratisation. They are particularly interested in the relationship between conflict type and ending, rebel group organisation and transformation, and the quality of electoral politics, peace and democracy in post-war societies.

Saferworld

Saferworld has been preventing violent conflict and building safer lives for over 35 years. Saferworld began as a politically-independent research organisation on effective arms control. In the 1990s they pioneered work for more effective arms controls, and also began examining the broader elements underlying conflict – such as governance, power, marginalisation, access to resources and development. Their guiding principle – which remains to this day – is that people should be at the heart of all responses to conflict. In 2000 they expanded their policy work and started in-country programming in Kenya and the Western Balkans. They have grown significantly since then: they now work in countries and territories across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. In all cases, partners form the backbone to their programme. Their policy and programming covers a range of issues at local, national, regional and international levels including community security, gender, peace and security, justice and development. Today, operating through a global network of four distinct entities – Saferworld (UK), Saferworld USA, Saferworld Europe and Saferworld Africa – remain one of the world’s leading organisations on conflict prevention thinking and practice.

It supports children through direct programmes, humanitarian assistance and advocacy, with a focus on ensuring that children are protected from violence, have access to education and healthcare, and can grow up in safe and supportive environments.

The Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement is a country-led and country-owned initiative united in a mission to end all forms of malnutrition 67 countries 3,000+ civil society organisations 1,500 local enterprises 15 UN agencies Donors, academia, youth, media, parliamentarians Led by countries and governments, supported by organisations and individuals – collective action ensures every child, adolescent, mother and family can realise their right to food and nutrition, reach their full potential and shape sustainable and prosperous societies. Since 2010, the SUN Movement has inspired a new way of working collaboratively to end malnutrition, in all its forms. With the governments of SUN Countries in the lead, it unites people—from civil society, the United Nations, donors, businesses and researchers—in a collective effort to improve nutrition.

Search for Common Ground works to prevent and resolve conflict by bringing people and communities together across divisions. They use a multiparty approach, engaging with all sides of a conflict, listening to diverse perspectives, and creating spaces for dialogue and collaboration rather than taking sides. Through community initiatives, youth programmes, and international peacebuilding efforts, they promote empathy, inclusive participation, and locally tailored solutions to build more peaceful societies.

Sustainability and Environmental Education (SEEd)

Sustainability and Environmental Education (SEEd) is a UK-based organisation that promotes education for sustainable development, with a particular focus on young people and the natural environment. They bring people and organisations together to develop and share approaches to education on sustainable development, while promoting critical, systems-based, and future-based thinking to support environmental sustainability and social justice.

Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa

The Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa is a governmental agency that serves as a platform for contacts and dialogue between on the one hand Sweden and the countries of Europe and on the other hand the countries of the Middle East and North Africa. In its activities, the Swedish Dialogue Institute addresses issues that are important for political, economic and social development, or for relations between the countries, or that help increase mutual understanding in the areas of culture and religion. It also promotes the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership within the European Union. The Red Cross is the world's largest humanitarian movement. Every day, they help people affected by crises and disasters. Their mission is to prevent and alleviate human suffering, protect life and health, and ensure respect for the dignity of each individual.

The Abilis Foundation

The Abilis Foundation is a Finnish non-governmental organisation that grants project funding to grassroots organisations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) and small businesses run by persons with disabilities in developing countries. We particularly support projects that are planned and implemented by OPDs that are newly-founded, working in rural areas, or founded by women with disabilities, and action that aims to advance the status, human rights, employment, inclusive participation, and independent living of persons with disabilities. The projects focus on concrete activities and last on average between 1 to 2 years, with grant sizes ranging between 3 500 – 15 000 euros.

The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN)

The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) is a coalition of non-governmental organizations in one hundred countries promoting adherence to and implementation of the United Nations nuclear weapon ban treaty. This landmark global agreement was adopted in New York on 7 July 2017, and went into effect on 22 January 2021.

The Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) is a Swedish public research institute based in Uppsala that focuses on contemporary Africa. It is jointly financed by Sweden, Finland, and Iceland. Transparency International Defence & Security

Transparency International Defence & Security (TI-DS) is part of Transparency International, the world’s leading anti-corruption Movement, comprised of 100 national Chapters and a Secretariat in Berlin. TI-DS is a global centre of excellence, evidence and advocacy dedicated to building integrity in the defence and security sector for the benefit of citizens, states, and the world. It is hosted by Transparency International UK and works with Chapters across the Movement. Since its establishment, TI-DS has worked to bring anti-corruption firmly into the global defence and security agenda. We have established ourselves as a leader on these issues. A signature success has been the creation of the Government Defence Integrity Index (GDI), the world’s leading assessment of corruption risk in national defence institutions. Over the duration of their most recent strategy, 2021-2023, they used the GDI to open doors to influence with defence institutions and to inform policy positions on topics including security sector reform (SSR), arms control, and private sector integrity. They have built strong networks for influence through their partnerships with Chapters and other civil society organisations, and through forming global and regional networks of TI Chapters advocating for integrity in defence and security.

Trócaire

Trócaire is an Irish international development and humanitarian organisation that works with partners and communities in countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, as well as in Ireland. It works to tackle poverty, inequality, injustice and the impacts of climate change through humanitarian assistance, long-term development programmes, human rights work and advocacy.
