SIPRI uses Matomo Analytics, a privacy-first alternative to Google Analytics (https://matomo.org/privacy/). We host and control 100% of the data within SIPRI's internal network and do not share data with any third parties. We use the data solely to understand visitor behaviour and improve this website. We respect "Do not track" settings and anonymise IP addresses to 2 bytes.

For transparency, note that visitors to https://donate.sipri.org (an iRaiser platform, not controlled by SIPRI) will be tracked automatically by SIPRI via a Matomo tracking pixel. This is not a cookie and IP addresses are anonymised to 2 bytes, rendering it non-personal data. Any other cookies or data set when visiting https://donate.sipri.org is the responsibility of iRaiser.
