EU arms embargo on Eritrea and Ethiopia

In March 1999, in reaction to the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea, the Council of the European Union adopted Common Position 1999/206/CFSP imposing an arms embargo on Ethiopia and Eritrea. The embargo expired on 31 May 2001 as acknowledged in Common Position 2001/215/CFSP
