Theresa Höghammar joined SIPRI in January 2009. She currently works as a Researcher for the Armed Conflict and Conflict Management programme at SIPRI. She holds a Masters in Political Science from Uppsala University/Swedish National Defence College. Theresa is a coordinator and researcher for the Wider Central Asia Initiative. The project aims to enhance regional dialogue with the neighbouring countries of Afghanistan to prevent regional instability as a consequence of the withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan.
