ALEXANDER GLASER AND ZIA MIAN
Summary
As of 2008, global stocks of highly enriched uranium totalled approximately 1379 tonnes (not including 297 tonnes to be blended down). Global military stocks of separated plutonium totalled approximately 255 tonnes and civilian stocks totalled 246 tonnes.
Dr Alexander Glaser (Germany) is a member of the research staff of Princeton University’s Program on Science and Global Security.
Zia Mian (Pakistan/United Kingdom) is a physicist with Princeton University’s Program on Science and Global Security, where he directs the Project on Peace and Security in South Asia.
