In 2006, SIPRI Researcher Mark Bromley received funding from the  European Foreign and Security Policy Studies Programme (EFSPS) supported by the Compagnia di San Paolo (Italy), the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (Sweden), and the VolkswagenStiftung (Germany) to conduct research on how the implementation of the EU Code has affected the arms export policies of EU member states. Running from April 2006 to April 2008, the project's output consisted of two academic articles and a Policy Paper.
