EU embargo on Sierra Leone (rebel)
Following Security Council resolution 1171 the EU imposed In June 1998 an arms embargo on Sierra Leone (Common Position 98/409/CFSP) which did not apply to arms supplied to the Government of Sierra Leone subject to examination by the UN.
Following the lifting of the UN sanctions related to Sierra Leone in September 2010 the EU sanctions were lifted in October 2010, (Council Decision 14864/10).
