Conditions for loans and photocopying

Library and Documentation Department

The Library services are intended primarily for SIPRI researchers, but external users are welcome to use the Library collections on the premises by prior arrangement. We do, however, recommend that you turn first to a major library in your own area before approaching SIPRI.

Enquiries

If you send a request by e-mail, always direct it to the general address below and not to a specific librarian. The general address is shared by everyone in the Library, which guarantees a quick reply. Requests may also be sent by regular mail or made by telephone or fax. General and bibliographic enquiries are processed 9.30-16:00 (closed for lunch 12:00-13:00):

Telephone +46 8 655 97 79
Telefax +46 8 655 97 33
E-mail to the Library.

Loans

All visitors who are 18 years of age, possess a valid identity card and can state an address in Sweden can borrow material directly when visiting the Library. For the complete set of rules, see loanrules.

Material from the SIPRI Library can also be borrowed through another library by interlibrary loans. We prefer to receive loan applications from Nordic libraries through LIBRIS. Periodicals and official publications are not lent at all, nor is any material published in the last three years.

Copying

Photocopies of library material made at SIPRI by library users : 1 SEK/page. Photocopies of articles that are mailed by the SIPRI Library (interlibrary loan) : 70 SEK for articles up to and including 20 pages. For articles longer than 20 pages, an additional fee of 2 SEK/page is charged.
