An Internet-Based Report and Retrieval System

This is a simple example of a report and retrieval system in an Internet-Based Early Warning Indicators System. It should be emphasized that this example is for illustration only. The sample questions in the monthly events questionnaire do not necessarily represent the questions in the final questionnaire. All figures in the report retrieval section are fictional, and do not in any way represent the actual world situation.

The system

The system consists of two parts: a Monthly Events Questionnaire and a Report Retrieval section. The Monthly Events Questionnaire shows a possible design for the questionnaire to be filled out each month by chosen experts. The questionnaire is intended to be simple and user-friendly so that it can be answered quickly.

As soon as the respondent has submitted the questionnaire, his or her responses will instantly be included in the statistical database model that produces the country and regional reports in the Report Retrieval section. Here one can view early warning reports for specific countries and regions. In the final version these sections will be much larger, and users will be able to customize them according to their needs (see also project description).
