2004: Sea Island, USA

At their summit on 9 June 2004 the G8 leaders agreed an Action Plan on Non-proliferation in which their reaffirmed their conviction that the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction was the pre-eminent threat to international peace and security.

At the summit the leaders evaluated the G8 Global Partnership Against Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction that was established in 2002. The Senior Officials Group presented a second Global Partnership annual report describing the activities and accomplishments since the Evian 2003 summit.
