    This publication aims to: (1) inform the public about the present state of knowledge about delayed lesions inflicted by militarily important poisons; (2) evaluate the clinical experience gained up to now in connection with the production, storage and use of CW agents; (3) propose various ways of reliably informing the public about the dangers of delayed lesions caused by military poisons, and (4) stimulate research in biochemistry and toxicology for elucidating the problems of delayed lesions in general and the mode of action of CW agents in particular.
