Caroline Säfström joined SIPRI for the first time in 2009 when she assisted the communications department. She currently works as the Research Assistant for the Global Health and Security Programme. Before that she worked as the Outreach and Communications Manager for the Countering Illicit Trafficking – Mechanism Assessment Projects. She holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from Uppsala University/Swedish National Defence College and a Bachelor in International Relations. Caroline has priviously worked with humanitarian and human rights issues for the Swedish Red Cross and events officer for the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK in London. Caroline has lived more than six years in London.
