Gulzhan Asylbek kyzy

Gulzhan Asylbek kyzy was a Research Assistant in the Peace and Development Programme. Her work focuses on measuring violence and socio-economic development using available data in conflict and non-conflict environments. Gulzhan is also one of the focal points for the Global Registry of Violent Deaths (GReVD) initiative. Her other main interest areas include measurement of governance and institutional performance, social cohesion and programme evaluation. Formerly, Gulzhan was involved in impact evaluation projects of peacebuilding programmes in Kyrgyzstan. Prior to joining SIPRI, she has worked in policy dialogue and practice in the areas of regional security through traineeships at the US Peace Corps and the EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic.
