About Ambassador Gregory Schulte
Before his posting in Vienna, Ambassador Schulte has served as Executive Secretary of the US National Security Council (NSC), overseeing the NSC staff; and as Senior Director for Southeast European Affairs on the NSC staff, overseeing the US diplomacy and military deployments in Bosnia and Kosovo and collaboration with the UN and the EU. He helped to guide and to coordinate inter–agency efforts to bring democracy to Serbia and prevent civil war in Macedonia. Ambassador Schulte graduated magna cum laude from the University of California at Berkeley and earned a master’s degree in public administration from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School.
