Moderator was Dr. Bates Gill, Director, SIPRI
Summary: Ambassador Shulte discussed the current state of Iran's nuclear ambitions as well as the challenges and opportunities it poses for the international community. In his remarks, Ambassador Shulte noted that the United States, along with the other permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany, will continue to pursue dual-track diplomacy of continued negotiations backed by credible sanctions should Iran fail to meet its international obligations. He urged Iran to come to full compliance and disclosure of its nuclear capabilities with the IAEA to help defuse tensions.
